Face recognition technology can do a lot to help your team speed up processes, improve security protocols, and enhance safety measures. Before you decide which service provider to choose, though, here are a few questions to help you. By going over this list, you can winnow down your options with greater ease.

How many facial points do you use?

Companies that offer up-to-date face recognition solutions will tell you that they no longer use systems that rely on facial points for recognition. Neither do they use any facial points to measure the distance between the ease. That’s technology from the last century. If the firm says 10 or 50 or even 80 or 90, that’s old and nearly outdated technology. Look elsewhere.

What machine learning inference framework do you use?

Most companies will tell you that they use an open source framework and that’s all right. Many companies choose deep neural network-based algorithms in their products. They require a ton of computing power, though, so be aware of that.

What camera do you use for uncontrolled face recognition?

Modern face recognition algorithms will work with almost any IP camera. That means you won’t have any problems using a camera that’s about $400 to $1000. If the company tells you that the system needs special cameras, ones to the tune of about $5,000 to $7,000, that’s an outdated system. Get out of that deal and move on to other service providers.

Does it work with my current system?

Make sure you check that the solution they offer won’t have any problems with the current hardware, apps or technology that you use. You wouldn’t want to invest in a product that will require you to overhaul your system unnecessarily. That’s going to lead to a ton of costs. Avoid that by asking this question before you buy anything.
