A high temperature cartridge heater is a piece of equipment that works through immersion or transference of heat. It is heated to a high temperature and then heats the objects around it. They come with different temperature capabilities, depending on the application. Here are a few situations where you will need a high-temperature heater.

Die Casting

Die casting is the process of creating metal objects by casting metal into a prepared shape. For this to work, metal needs to be heated to such a high temperature that it becomes liquid. The best way to heat the metal to this needed temperature is using a high temperature cartridge heater. This type of heater keeps the metal consistently heated, which means that the casting process can go smoothly.

When objects such as metal need to be heated, you need a high-temperature heater since they only melt at high temperatures. That is why it’s important to get a heater that has the right power and can heat to the right temperature.

Injection Molding

Injection molding is another method of molding metal, like die casting. Instead of pouring molten metal, it is injected into a mold. As for die casting, metal needs to be heated until it is liquid, which requires high temperatures.

Platen Heating

Cartridge heaters are sometimes incorporated into platens or large presses used in manufacturing. These metal presses diffuse heat evenly across a surface, which is vital in manufacturing. Some custom-made platens get as hot as 1200 degrees, which requires a high temperature cartridge heater.
